L.A.-based Designer Tadashi Shoji To Open First Exclusive Store in Japan

L.A based dress designer Tadashi Shoji opened his first signature store in Japan, in Mitsukoshi Department store in Nihonbashi, Tokyo. In his home-ground his clothing draw attentions of celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Beyonce. This is the first time he introduces full line of his brand in Japan.

Thashi Shoji is originally from Japan, and his namesake brand is growing in his adopted home. It has joined New York fashion week since 2007. His unique and skilled cutting technique gives beautiful shape and easy-to-move-body feature to his Evening dresses or Separates.

He apprenticed under the Hollywood costume designer Bill Witton, and founded his own brand in 1982. The concept behind the interior design of new store is “Modern & Chic & Classic”. The store has a clean white coloring, and the minimal interior has both futuristic and classic feel at the same time.

Nihonbashi, the home venue of Japanese giant developer Mitsui Real Estate, is one of the most aggressively developing area in Tokyo, and the choice of the site is based on the potentiality of the area.

Before the opening of this store, Tadashi Shoji’s items are sold in several prestigious department stores, including brand’s showroom in Aoyama. With the opening of exclusive store,  his brand fully starts to reel in Japanese customers.

He will also have other new stores in Beijing and Shanghai, which will open in near future, which is expected to be the showcase of his brand for Asian Market.
