Japan marks 2nd anniversary of 311: AKB48 Group Members visit disaster hit area and hold live benefit concerts

Onagawa town:

Fujie Reina, Iwasa Misaki, Watanabe Mayu, Shimazaki Haruka, Kojima Natsuki, Kodama Haruka

Tagajo city:

Kobayashi Kana, Komori Mika, Kojima Haruna, Sashihara Rino, Iwata Karen, Oshima Ryoka

Kojima Haruna: We carried out the live benefit concert in Tagajo city, Miyagi prefecture.

I had a conflict over whether it’s a right thing to do to visit the affected area on March 11th.

But to see everyone smiling and talking to us that they want us to come again made me enormously glad.

AKB48 Shinoda Mariko: Today I visited Rikuzentakata city for charity live concert.

I’ve been struggling to figure out whether it’s right to visit there on this day.

Will we be nuisance for them when they want to peacefully reminisce over the lost loved ones and pray for the repose of disaster victims’ souls?

I’m truly grateful that people kindly invited and welcomed us!!

AKB48/NMB48 Yokoyama Yui: We’re allowed to visit Yamada town, Iwate prefecture.

Members visited the town were Matsui Rena-san, Shiichan, Ricchan, Wakanyan and Juri☆

I would like to keep this day in my mind, and living with a smile for tomorrow.

JKT48 Takajo Aki: Today I went to visit Watari town in Miyagi prefecture with Jurina, Sakiko, Tomochan, Mariyagi and Tanochan.

The date that no one will ever forget.

The date that no one should never forget.

It will still take some time to restore the area, but if there’re things that we can be of help, I’m willing to do it!

I would like to pay my deepest condolences to those who have been suffering from the disaster.
