The Miyawaki Sakura and Watanabe Mayuyu’s “double-center” single has reached one million sales just in one day, slightly up from the previous “Election” single. To commemorate the release, Kayano Shinobu has shared us many pictures of AKB48 members, including alumna Maeda Atsuko.

You may think Shinobu-san has much experience in the industry as she is at the helm of this entertainment empire, 48 franchise’s hands-on management. But the truth is, she might be as young as you. She was hired by Office48 as a costume designer when she was in her early 20’s, meaning now she’s still very young – yet, she seems very mature. In life, we sometimes meet people who are congenitally nice, self-assured, witty, who could start a conversatioin with anyone. She is one of those people. Also, she designs fabulous costume, of course.

Heavy Rotation “Monster” costume debuted in Best Artist Kayosai 2014 yesterday.

Kawaei’s skirt was made out of pages from elemenraty school workbooks (printed on fabric, I guess). She took the test herself, and surprisingly, answered some questions correctly.

She could name three Japanese prefectures and two of these Japan’s historic figures’ names correctly. I could only answer Hokkaido.

Shinobu is a masterful designer. Her design is not just eye-pleasing but also very clever. Each time you see the costume, you find hidden references to each individual member.
