-And you don’t hide that fact that you have that kind of hobby to your friends?
Furukawa: Not at all. I’ve been appealing this just normally.
Hata: In my school, Kidousenshi Gundum Seed was very popular among my friends, and I used to draw illustrations of the Amine together with them. Sure, everyone was very open about it.
Yakata: Me, too. I’ve never hidden anything about this. Time to time, I was told “What in the world are you using?” but I was just like “It’s Hagaren. Don’t you know that? It’s been very popular these days.”. I’ve just normally enjoyed talking about my hobby.
Furukawa: I guess maybe men care about this kind of stuffs more than girls.
Hata: Yeah. What I keenly remember is the boy who had a Shitaziki that has an illustration of a girl who is dressed in Bunny costume, and he was made fun of by other boys. I felt sorry for him.
Furukawa: That wouldn’t happen to girls.
Yakata: I think so.
Furukawa: I think if it’s girls, we don’t make fun of them, but just leave them alone if we aren’t really interested in their hobbies.
Yakata: Instead of minding how people thing about me, I want to enjoy being Otaku. That’s more fun. I can feel a joy just by being surrounded by my favorites goods.
Furukawa: Yeah, it makes us high, doesn’t it?
Yakata: It does. Even during the class, I was looking at my Shitaziki or clips from magazines while studying.
Furukawa: Looking back, in fact, I think “2-dimension lover” was my appeal.
I wrote about it during the audition for SKE48, and because what I love the most is 2-dimension, I figured if it’s 2-dimension, I can talk about it confidently. Plus I love drawing, so I figured all of these stuffs are my own unique personality.
