AKB48’s first public performance of Kokoro no Placard, Kawaei Rina returns (+ NyanParu lunch)!

AKB48 performed their new single, Kokoro no Placard!

During today’s 「THE MUSIC DAY Ongaku no Chikara」TV program, AKB48 performed for the first time their 37th single “Kokoro no Placard” ( 心のプラカード ) with Watanabe Mayu as the center of the song.

This day was also made even more special with the appearance of Kawaei Rina, who was absent from AKB48’s public performances since the unfortunate accident during the handshake event in Iwate back in 25th of May.

Ongaku no Chikara! (the title of the show) did everyone watch it?

I tried my hardest.
But it was super duper fun (*^^*)

With a very simple, straightforward black-and-white themed costume, Kokoro no Placard placed itself differently from other sousenkyo singles ( Heavy Rotation, Flying Get, Gingham Check, Koisuru Fortune Cookie ) where the costumes are usually bright and colorful.

Whether this song will be able to continue the tradition of AKB48 singles by breaking the 1 million sales, we shall see in August.

Ever since Sakura no Ki ni Narou ( 20th single ), all AKB48 singles have surpassed the 1 million mark with Labrador Retriever being the 17th consecutive time they’ve managed to pull this feat.

As for the past election singles, their (total) sales figures are as follows:
– Heavy Rotation ( 880,761 )
– Flying Get ( 1,625,849 )
– Gingham Check ( 1,316,240 )
– Koisuru Fortune Cookie ( 1,532,383 )
