AKB48 “Tenohira ga Katarukoto” Tohoku Charity Song: Now available for free

This is the first time AKB48 distribute music for free.

As a part of their support activity for restoration project in Tohoku, “Dareka no Tameni” (誰かのために – What can I do for someone), AKB48 released the charity song “Tenohira ga Katarukoto” (Tales that our palms tell – 掌が語ること).

The distribution of the song in the form of MP2 has started at 6:00 PM on March 8th.

They are asking donation from fans who download the music, and all proceeds of that will be donated to Disaster hit area through Japan Red Cross.

The Ballad song sings members feelings that they want to keep supporting the support activity to make children smile.

-What we can do for the people?

To make children smile,

To continue support activities for the people.

The first charity song “Dareka no Tameni” was distributed for a fee, and all proceed is donated as well.

People involved in the project explain that the reason why they chose to make the song free is “By distributing the music to the world for free, we are able to send a message – ‘Please don’t forget the disaster that has forever changed the life of millions of people.'”

AKB48 launched the restoration support project soon after the disaster hit.

So far, the group donated over 1.25 billion yen, the total of donation from the group and fans.

They also donated mini buses for disaster hit prefectures.

Not only monetary aid but they have been doing what they can do the best to support the people. Namely charity concert and handshake event.

So far, they held the event total 22 times in the three prefectures.

On March 11th, the 2 year anniversary of the disaster, all groups under the AKB48 project in Japan will hold charity live concerts, and give a prayer to victims.

It’s almost two years since the earthquake.

AKB48G has learned a lot though 22 support activities for disaster hit area.

We met scenes like kindergartners gifted us a song, they sang amazingly.

Granma shad happy tears at the sight of children are frolicking out of joy.

These things made us become strongly aware of how important “Bond – Kizuna – 絆” btween people and “Mutual Support” are.

With the gratitude to fans, that your supports have enabled us to continue the activity, always in our mind, 48G will continue “Dareka no Tame ni” project.
