Me, too. I’ve become interested in theater songs thanks to A2nd “Dakedo”

If you just listen to songs or videos, you may have an impression like that,
but if you actually watched the performance in person, you will have a whole different impression as members are dancing and singing at a close range.
It must be awful if you create a setlist with songs from singles, anyway.

On the contrary, I think songs from setlists are far better than singles(´・ω・`)

I think songs that were used in Anime AKB0048 are considered to be songs that are similar to songs from singles.
I personally consider singles and setlist like this.
Single: Target at mass market, Target at the general public, completed in one song
Setlist 1: Songs that are a part of the context or story of the setlist, including the episode of singer herself
Setlist 2: Experimental or Niche songs
Setlist 3: Made to be sung by few particular members

↑That’s exactly why it takes so much time for Akimoto to write songs for theater setlists.
Being catchy is not enough, but it has to include a sort of gag and twist, and most importantly, Story.

There’re no songs in “Te o Tsunaginagara” that you can’t stop loving.

It’s hard to be attached to songs from the theater performances if you haven’t frequented the theater in the first place.

First Rabbit
While music box sound at the beginning makes listeners suspect that this is a horrible song, suddenly starting guitar sound make us immediately captivated by the song.
The tune in chorus part is the work of genius, and the flow from bridge to the chorus is exhilarating

Jung ya Freud no Ba’ai.
This song has such a broad scale and it’s lyrics are marvelous.
I don’t surprise if many people select this song as their No.1 favorite song from 1830m

Mokugekisha is a kind of setlist that is not AKB-like, but it actually has many good songs.
I wonder what A’s next setlist will be like.

↑I second you.

I don’t care about the songs that are sung by members who I’m not interested in at all.

After all, there’re several requirements to fully appreciate theater songs. Like, if it’s performed by your favorite members, or if you understand the background and history…
For staffs like Togasaki, it’s laughable to hear that some fans are judging theater songs without even watching the performance in person. But it can’t be helped when AKB has gained so many casual fans, who even try to compare AKB, SKE and NMB without even having watched their their theater performances in person….
