AKB48 Donated 30 Micro Buses To Tsunami-Hit Prefectures Miyagi, Fukushima and Iwate

AKB48 held an shake-hand event titled “‘Flying Get’ and ‘Kaze ha Fuiteiru’ nationwide shake-hand event in Tohoku area” today, on 14th Apr.

Total 15 members of AKB48 joined the performance stage. Here is the list of those girls! (あいうえお順 Kana-order)Tomomi Itano (板野友美), Yuko Oshima (大島優子), Kasai Tomomi (河西智美), Yuki Kashiwagi (柏木由紀), Rie Kitahara (北原里英), Asuka Kuramochi (倉持明日香), Haruna Kojima (小嶋陽菜), Rino Sashihara (指原莉乃), Mariko Shinoda (篠田麻里子), Aki Takajo (高城亜樹), Minami Takahashi (高橋みなみ), Atsuko Maeda (前田敦子), Minami Minegishi (峯岸みなみ), Sae Miyazawa (宮澤佐江), Yui Kokoyama (横山由依)

As the title of the event is named after the AKB’s single, top-members completely dominated the list (except Mayuyu. She is taking a medical leave)

This was an exclusive event for the purchasers of their last singles “Flying get” and “Kaze ha Fuiteiru (風は吹いている)”. With about 6,000 excited fans rushed into the studium (Tohoku Clinex Baseball Studiam), they performed their latest 25th single “Give Me Five” with live band performance, followed by “Heavy Rotation”, which they also played live. Oshima greeted fans, “We finally could come to Tohoku after 5 moths. Since we have’t been Tohoku for long, I want to make the whole stadium excited with you!!”

They announced that AKB48 is going to donate total 30 micro buses (AKBUS) for Miyagi, Iwate and Fukushima pref. Each prefecture will be donated 10 buses on 18th Feb. Today, the design of AKBUS is revealed on the stage, and the presentation ceremony was done on the stage.

Minami Takahashi said “I hope these buses can help people who have inconvenience in transportation. AKB48 will continue supportive activity for restoration of Tohoku.” and handed a paper certification to the mayor of Yamatomo-town, Miyagi. Mayor expressed his gratitude, said “We are going to utilize these buses we are presented as a town residents bus.”
