NHK News: Six pillars of tent fell over and 6 AKBk fans got injured

According to Chiba prefectural police, this afternoon, pillars that support tent roof fell apart and 6 people got injured in the accident at Makuhari Messe, where Handshake event of AKB48 is being held.

The 6 victims are all male, whose ages are between 20 and 30. Their injuries are not serious, like small cuts or bruises, and now they’re receiving medical treatment at a hospital.

At the time of accident, there were strong winds blowing in the area around the venue, and the police is investigating the cause of the accident.

The accident was occurred at communication space for fans where they trade photo cards of members with other fans. There was no AKB48 members at the site.

Right after the accident, AKB48 updated it’s official blog to announce that they shut the open air communication space for the security reason due to strong wind.
