Manatsu no Sounds Good! Breaks AKB48’s Own Record, Selling Over 1.6 Million for the Release Week

AKB’s 26th Single Manatsu no Sounds Good! sold over 1.6 million for the first week, making AKB48 tops Oricon weekly chart with 13 consecutive single releases, according to Oricon.

The sales of Manatsu no Sounds Good! exceeded all previous singles of AKB48. It exceeded previous record AKB48 set with Flying Get which sold 1.35 million in it’s release week by 260 thousands copies, making the single the most selling single of it’s release week in the history of Japanese music scene.

With this record, top5 of the most selling single of it’s release week has become all dominated by AKB48‘s songs.

This single is AKB48‘s 8th million-selling singles and 7th  consecutive million-selling single from Everyday Cachucha.

Minami Takahashi, the leader of team A of AKB48 gave us a comment.
