NMB48 topics: 1st album “Teppen Tottande” won Oricon Weekly Chart by a big lead, NMB48 West japan Tour 2013 kicked off

NMB48 made another record by their 1st album “Teppen Tottande” (We gotta win the TOP!).

Yesterday, on March 4th, Oricon announced NMB48’s 1st single won the Oricon Weekly ranking in it’s first appearance.

Selling 328,000 copies in the first week after the release, it was a hands-down Victory. 

It’s the first time that all female music act won Oricon Weekly Chart for the first week after the release both with their debut single and album.

One of the reason why this single contains concert DVD – Osaka Jyuban Shobu, ChapuChapu Tour – as well as 51 minutes long footage of movie “Teppen Tottande” feat. NMB48 members.

At the same timing, it’s announced total CD sales of AKB48 exceeded 20 million copies. AKB48 reached this number in as little as 7 years and 1 month, which is the record breaking speed.

AKB48 has become 6th Japanese music act that sold over 20 million records after B’z, Southern All Stars, Mr. Children, Smap and Hamasaki Ayumi.
